Investing In Yourself
Are you having FOMO about what is going on in the stock market right now?
We had Gamestop stock at the beginning of the Reddit drama and we sold it early. No problem we still 4x’d our return. BUT this isn’t about that.
Why are we so quick to bet on others but not ourselves?
What’s the best investment you’ve ever made?
I think about investments in three ways:
I invest money to create value in my life.
I invest money to grow my mind/ability/capacity.
I invest money to create further wealth.
Yes, I have some traditional investment accounts. Yes, I spend money to buy the things I want and create the life I want.
That’s the easy money. Today I want to talk about hard money.
Spending money on yourself to grow your mind, ability, capacity, and your self-worth.
I see that so often when it comes to investing in ourselves we have so much resistance.
You may hesitate.
You white-knuckle through the pain.
You overthink without taking action.
You spend a lot of time gathering all the “free” out there but you don’t commit.
You say “not now” or “not yet” or “it’s not for me, it’s for other people.”
I’ve experienced this resistance. My partner (with who I share finances) throws up resistance too.
I don’t fault him because I. GET. IT.
Spending money on yourself… is a belief issue. Spending a lot of money on yourself will break your brain a little bit.
And it’s a decision, an action, movement towards what you want.
Underneath all the resistance is a lack of self-trust.
You don’t trust you’ll make the most of it. Or that it will be worth it.
Or you face the reality of believing that you, yourself, are worth everything.
Are you resisting investment in yourself? I’ll bet there is self-doubt behind it.
So what if you didn’t doubt yourself. What if you were all in on you?
What if the first feeling when it came to investing in yourself was trust and not resistance.
Or what if you believed that this would pay off beyond what I can even imagine.
How much time would you save?
Where would you be 6 months from now?
Where would you be a year from now?
You get to decide what investing in you means.
Why not make it mean that you are 100% beyond worth it?
This is why I don’t collect payments for coaching. I accept investments.
I am invested in you until you can match my belief in you. Once we are both vested, then that’s where the magic happens. That’s when and where the investment starts to compound beyond what you thought possible.
Stop waiting on you.
